Postnatal Assessment
I offer comprehensive postnatal assessments in the comfort of your own home. This assessment is designed to check how your body has recovered from pregnancy and birth, and to create a safe and effective return-to-exercise plan.
The assessment includes a detailed questionnaire about your pregnancy and birth, a posture assessment, an abdominal check for diastasis recti (abdominal separation), a pelvic floor assessment and a basic fitness assessment.
Based on the results of your assessment, I will create a personalised exercise programme and provide recommendations to help you recover safely and effectively. This may include specific exercises to help with diastasis recti, pelvic floor strengthening and general fitness.
The assessment takes approximately 1-1.5 hours and is ideally carried out 6-8 weeks after birth, once you have had your GP check-up. However, it's never too late to have an assessment, even if your baby is older.
